Dynamite Comes in Small Packages:

N

Strong Leadership

  • Andrea was elected Chair of the HDSB from Dec 2017 to Dec 2021. Andrea was entrusted to lead, speak and advocate on behalf of the Board.
  • Andrea has partnered and built relationships with local, provincial and federal leaders.
  • When difficult decisions need to be made, she analyzes the issues from several angles and is never afraid to ask uncomfortable questions; always keeping the organizational goals in mind.
N

Bold Advocacy

When issues arise, public education needs a voice. As Chair of the Halton District School Board, Andrea advocated to the Minister of Education, the Premier, MPPs and other elected officials through letters, phone calls and one-on-one conversations to shed light on their decisions’ potential or realized consequences. She often spoke with the media to inform the public of potential outcomes and encourage engagement when necessary.

N

Fiscally Responsible

Annually, as a trustee for the Halton District School Board, Andrea considered and approved operational and capital budgets. For the 2022-2023 school year, the combined operational and capital budget is $1 Billion.

Budgets are tight and tough decisions must be made.

N

Governance of Large Organization

The Halton District School Board serves 66,000 students in over 100 facilities with 10,000 staff with an operational budget of $850 million.
As Trustee and Chair, Andrea provided strategic vision through the development of two multi-year strategic plans and sound policy leadership.

Your Voice Will Be Heard

Burlington is one of the best places to live in the country. Its residents expect excellent public education, public healthcare, affordable housing, and a strong voice representing them at Queen’s Park. Since 2018, constituents looking for help in these and other areas have been sorely disappointed with the lack of transparency and accountability and shocked by the tinge of corruption, the lies, the flagrant denial of human rights by the use of the Nothwithstanding clause, and obsene fiscal mismanagement of hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

My reputation is an open book. As an elected official, I will be your voice.” Andrea

Burlington's Provincial Voting Record 2007-2022

Burlington is progressive!

In every provincial election since 2007, over 50% of Burlington voters have chosen progressive parties. However, the PCs have won four out of the last five elections due to vote-splitting among progressive voters.

In the 2022 election, the NDP had a strong advantage with an incumbent candidate, while the PCs and Liberals ran unknowns. Despite this, the NDP’s vote share fell by over 10 percentage points.

It’s time to unite the progressive vote—supporting public education, healthcare, long-term care, affordable housing, and responsible fiscal management—behind a strong, trusted candidate with a proven record of integrity, accountability, and transparency in office.
